Dutch University of Twente visits ACA

25/01/2017 - ACA was approached by the university of Twente to host about 30 students.
Every year Twente sends their students to a foreign country for two weeks, where they do research about a certain study topic. This year the trip was to South Africa (Cape Town and Johannesburg) and the research topic was Continuous Improvement. Before the trip, students had lectures about continuous improvement.

Worked out ideas in practice and followed by a yellow belt training course in Lean Manufacturing. During the trip, the students used their skills to gather information by means of interviewing ACA staff and employees and by observation. Back in the Netherlands, the students will conclude the research by writing a report on their findings. ACA and other companies that took part in the research project will receive a copy of this report for implementation and review. It was a pleasure hosting the students and we are looking forward to the various recommendations and observations. Here are some of the comments from the students: "The visit to ACA was great! Unbelievable how many people joined us and how well prepared they all were. They were even wearing the same shirts with their name on it, so we knew who to address and how to call him/her." "The Lunch was definitely the best we had compared to all the other companies we visited." "We learned a lot from our visit to ACA. It was great to have a two-day visit. The first day was nice, because we got answers to our questions and we learned about ACA's vision towards continuous improvement, but the second day was even better. Te second day we could work in groups on our own smaller project and this was a lot of fun. It is cool to look at a business process this way and discovering all sorts of improvement opportunities." We at ACA, wish the students all the best for their future studies and careers.
